If someone close to you passes away we are available to help you from the very beginning. We begin by ascertaining the wishes of the deceased, assessing their assets and distributing them according to the law and the deceased’s wishes, if known.
When a person who has made a Will passes away, the executors typically need to apply for a Grant of Probate. If someone dies without having written a Will, their next of kin can apply for a Grant of Letters of Administration.
If you are an executor, or you believe you are entitled to apply for a Grant of Probate or a Grant of Letters of Administration in someone’s estate we are happy to advise you in relation to the application and the process involved. We can then assist you in determining how best to proceed with the administration of the estate.
The Grant of Probate and the Grant of Letters of Administration confirms your ability to deal with the deceased’s estate allowing you to manage and collect the deceased’s assets, pay their debts and distribute the estate in accordance with the terms of the Will or in accordance with the intestacy rules.
